Nestled in the heart of Somerset, Jemma and her family cherish their contemporary new build farmhouse. However, the kitchen had always felt somewhat off to Jemma since moving in. Despite its generous dimensions (8m x 4m), it didn't quite fit the bill.
The initial layout had left Jemma feeling dissatisfied. The sink unit sat beneath a small window at one end, while the dining area occupied the farthest reaches of the room, complete with sliding doors.
A dividing breakfast bar only compounded the issue, creating a dark, cramped space that felt disjointed from the rest of the room. As the dining area was relegated to the far end, complete with inviting sliding doors that opened up to the beautiful Somerset landscape. On the surface, it seemed like a practical arrangement, but there was a catch.
